Print Schedule Finalized!

Heya backers!
After much back and forth with our usual printer throughout August, we decided to switch printers to do a real offset print run. This is great news because it means that the books are going to be really high quality and consistent, but it meant that we spent most of the month dealing with all the paperwork to get setup with a new printer.
But now all that is done! In fact, they’ve sent us the proof, we sent that proof back, and the printing is underway. We’ve been told that the books will be finished on September 28th, and we expect them to head out the door to you all, just a few days after that. We’ll send out a note the week before to remind you to update your address with us if you need to do so.
The proofing process was really neat. They sent us a large printout of the text so that we could look for tiny errors, and it was neat to flip through it and see all of Juan’s art in a huge format. Here’s a picture:
There’s not much for us to do for the core book now that the book is at the printer, but we’re still hard at work on stretch goals, including finalizing a few of the playbooks and getting the Dark Streets materials together. Stay tuned for an update toward the end of the month about our progress on these supplementary materials and any news we have about physical books!
GenCon and Production Update

Hey folks!
As you might have guessed by this point, we will not have books available at GenCon. We put in an order for a proof last week from our usual printer, but the quality of the print frankly wasn’t good enough. A lot of Juan Ochoa’s art has rich and deep blacks… and the print we got was streaky and inconsistent. We’re currently looking for a new printer.
That said, we’ve got some promising quotes back for a full offset print run, and we expect to send the book to the new printer next week. We’ll keep you updated as we go, but please send in any typos or errors that you find in the current PDF. We’re almost there!
We’ve gotten a lot of great and valuable feedback from all of you on the PDF we released via DriveThru (and we’ve been at the top of the Hottest Small Press list for a week)! Thank you all for your support.
You rock!

Hark! The day has come!
Please check your Kickstarter message inbox: we’ve sent out codes for you to download your copy of the finished Urban Shadows PDF from DriveThruRPG. Woot!
To be honest, we’re all a bit in a daze over here at Magpie HQ. We’ve been working on Urban Shadows for a long time, and we’re so thrilled to get it out to you. You all have been amazing and patient, and this book wouldn’t be half as good as it is without all of you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
On that note, we are still wrestling with the printer, and we may have softcover copies in time for GenCon. We sent the files to the printer today to get proofs (they overnight them to us), but we’ll have to see what they can do for us on shipping before we commit. We want to make sure we can put copies into the mail before we head out to GenCon; you all definitely deserve to get your books right away!
Hardcover books are going to take a bit longer, but we should have an update on that by next week. Basically, the whole process of printing hardcover books takes 4-6 weeks, so will probably have those in early September. Again, we’ll keep you posted as we hear more from the printer.
Again… thank you. We’re so proud of this work and excited to share it with all of you.
