June Production Update

Hey everyone! 

We’re so close now! This weekend we sent off the text for chapters 5 and 6 off to Amanda for copy editing. That means that the entire player-facing portion of the book is done; that’s over 50,000 words, almost double what we originally expected going into this project, with another 20,000 words or so to go. 

Production Update: MC Chapters 

This week we’re aiming at cranking out chapters 7 through 10, which will include all the MC instructions, notes, Storms & Threats, and hacking the game. This is all material we’ve developed carefully over the last 3-4 months, so we expect things to go relatively quickly. We’ll keep you all posted at the end of this weekend. 

After we finish those chapters, we’ll send off all the text to Thomas to be laid out before the end of the month, at which point you’ll get the chance to look over the digital proof and tell us what you think! We’re really excited for you all to get a look at the PDF (before it goes to print)! 

Origins 2015 

If you’re attending Origins this weekend, a number of folks, including Mark, are running Urban Shadows at Games on Demand (http://www.indiegamesexplosion.org/events/origins/) and we’d love to see backers come out to play (and run games if you’re so inclined). Origins was where we first ran some of the early revisions to the playbooks, and we’re excited to come back this year with final materials.

We’re very excited to be in the final stretch and can’t thank you enough for all the support, advice, patience, and love! You’ve been a great community to work with!
